Anonymous asked: Hii:) I'm switching studios in the fall and I'm super-nervous!!! I'll be going from 3 1/2 hours a week to 10 hours a week, anything I should know about to get ready for this huge step? Also, a lot of the girls from my old studio go to my school, I don't want them to think I'm betraying them. I just want to get some better training, and more of it. Please help, thanks

Anonymous asked: Hi I'm wanting to go to a dance college out of high school. I looked into AMDA but was recently discouraged by the result of many dancers from my town who went to that school. I'm really scared for the future, I want to dance with some sort of profession. Is there any tips you have? Or do you know any good dance colleges? Thank you :)

Anonymous asked: Hello! I'm 14 and I want to start ballet. One of my main concerns about starting is my body. I've quite, um, developed and my flexibility is horrible. Could being very endowed effect my dancing in anyway? And what are the best stretches to get flexibility?

Anonymous asked: To the anon who danced at ABT-- I went through the exact same thing. I'm doing something COMPLETELY different now, career wise. I get more joy from dancing now than I ever have in my entire life. I dance when I want to and because I want to, and I dance because I can freely express myself through it doing it. A career in dance would never have given me that.

Anonymous asked: I danced classical ballet at ABT in New York since I was four and now I quit. I just couldn't take it anymore. it finally hit me that I was never going to be good enough, ballet is one of those things that if you practice practice practice you can become amazing but if you dont have "it" you will never be the best. I just didn't have that natural talent so I quit to focus on...

Anonymous asked: "When it seems like every contemporary dance piece on this planet is to an Adele or Coldplay song." I'm sorry but that is just fucking RUDE. Totally lost respect for the person that wrote that and this blog in general. Unfollowing.

Anonymous asked: I love contemporary, & I want to be good at it, but I have problems opening up & showing my feelings to people, so while I can relate to a song & feel it while listening to it by myself, in class I can't connect in the same way, it's too scary. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Anonymous asked: So I reaaaaaaaaallly love dance, and I did it when I was younger, but then I moved, so I quit, & I only rejoined a studio 4 years ago. Any...
