Anonymous Asked: hi ive been dancing for 12 years and ive been stretching to get really flexible but i still cant kick high or get my dutchman past second, my dance teacher says to lift from underneath my leg since i always use my quads instead. Ive been trying to lift from underneath but i still dont get it. is there anyway to get rid of this bad habit?

You’re not engaging your turn out muscles. Check out the “turn out” link on the Q&A page. There should be a text post about how to feel and turn on your turn out muscles. So try working with that and seeing how it affects your dancing. And if you need any further advice, don’t be shy to ask. Keep calm and dance on. =))
