You’ll likely be really sore at first just because dancing that much will keep you in much much stronger shape. You’ll also be tired, and you might find it harder to stay committed in every class. But try to push past this and give your all in every class all the time. It’s tough, but in time, you’ll adjust. And to be honest, I was in a similar situation when I changed studios my junior year. This might not be what you wanted to hear, but to be honest, I lost most of my friends there. When I left, rumors circulated and a lot of people turned against me. But on the flip side, the friendships that survived were and are so much stronger. One of my best friends is someone I used to dance with at my old studio, and we still talk and hang out and such. So if anything, it helped me see who my real friends were. And while I definitely miss the way things used to be, I definitely don’t regret it. At all. I learned so much more at my new studio. And as sad as it is to admit, the friendships that fell through when I left weren’t built to last anyways. Even if I had stayed, I definitely wouldn’t have kept up with those people when I left for college. Whereas I still keep up with the ones who I stayed close with after I switched studios. So in case my point was lost in my little anecdote, here’s pretty much what I mean: things are going to change. People might think bad things. (Although you definitely should talk to them about it before hand and try to explain your point of view. But be prepared for them to judge anyways.) But in the end, it’s for the best. You’ll make new friends at your new studio. And you’ll definitely gain a lot more out of dancing that much. I promise you that it’s worth it.
I hope this was helpful. If you have any further questions, don’t be shy to ask. Keep calm and dance on. =))
